MANCHESTER – The Manchester football team took another step to getting to .500 on the year when they hosted Green on Friday.
The Greyhounds picked up their second straight victory when the Bobcats came to town, beating them, 40-8.
Mason Bilyeu kicked off the scoring in the game when he came up with an interception and returned it 6 yards in the first quarter. Quarterback Shaun Gould hit Nick Woolard on a 39-yard touchdown pass on the last play of the quarter, giving Manchester a 14-0 lead.
Gould added a 10-yard touchdown run with 6:52 left in the first half to extend the Greyhounds’ lead. Woolard picked up his second score with under a minute to go before the break, this time on the ground from the 2-yard line.
The senior didn’t slow down in the second half either.
On the first play of the third quarter, Woolard was able to break free for a 54-yard touchdown run to give the Greyhounds a 34-0 advantage.
Manchester made it 40-0 when Marcus Neeley scored on a 12-yard run later in the third quarter, before Green was able to get on the board late in the contest.
Manchester moves to 3-4 with the win. The Greyhounds will host Symmes Valley next Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
