The high school boys’ basketball playoff brackets are set in Ohio.
Ripley earned a No. 1 seed in the OHSAA Southwest Division IV with a 13-7 record. The Blue Jays have games against Bethel-Tate and Peebles remaining in the regular season, before taking on No. 4 Lockland on Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. Lockland had a 6-13 record at the time of voting. The two have not faced off this season and do not share any common opponents.
In the Southwest Division IV, Georgetown earned a No. 5 seed with a 14-6 record. The G-Men will have a bye in the first round and take on the winner of the Feb. 24 game between No. 9 Clark Montessori and No. 7 Cincinnati Christian in a sectional final on Feb. 27. Georgetown and has not faced either head-to-head and does not share any common opponents with either. Clark Montessori beat Cincinnati Christian on Jan. 16, 67-50.
West Union earned a No. 2 seed in the Southeast Division III bracket with a 14-4 record. The Dragons will have a bye to a Feb. 23 sectional final at Waverly, where they’ll face the winner of the Feb. 19 sectional semifinal between No. 7 Western and No. 10 Southeastern. West Union beat Southeastern on Dec. 2, 56-44, but has not faced Western.
Eastern Brown’s 12-7 record earned a No. 4 seed and a first-round game against No. 13 Valley, who posted a 4-13 record. The two have not met this season, but Valley has faced two Southern Hills Athletic Conference teams. Eastern beat North Adams on Dec. 8, 56-49, while North Adams beat Valley on Jan. 27, 63-50. Eastern lost to Peebles on Feb. 6, 54-49, and Peebles lost to Valley on Feb. 3, 77-69.
In the Southeast Division IV bracket, Peebles earned a No. 2 seed with a 14-5 record and will face the winner of a Feb. 21 sectional semifinal between No. 7 Whiteoak and No. 10 Sciotoville in a Feb. 28 sectional final at Northwest. Peebles beat Whiteoak on Dec. 1, 65-50, and again on Dec. 15, 44-38. Peebles has not faced off with Sciotoville this season. Whiteoak and Sciotoville have also not met this season.
Manchester earned a No. 8 seed with a 5-15 record and will face No. 9 Notre Dame on Feb. 20 in a sectional semifinal at Northwest. The two have not met this season, but share common opponents. The Greyhounds beat Portsmouth Clay, 71-27, on Dec. 9, while Notre Dame lost to Clay on Dec. 12, 60-54. Manchester lost to Green on Dec. 16, 70-58, while Notre Dame lost to Green on Dec. 5, 59-32. Manchester lost to Whiteoak twice – on Jan. 5, 68-54, and on Jan. 23, 70-64. The Titans lost to Whiteoak on Jan. 6, 68-40. Notre Dame lost to Symmes Valley, 65-44, on Dec. 15 and again on Jan. 26, 59-55, while Manchester beat Symmes Valley, 82-72, on Jan. 20 at the Coach Young Classic. Both teams lost to North Adams – Manchester on Feb. 6, 61-53, and Notre Dame on Jan. 30, 55-45. The winner will get No. 1 Dawnson-Bryant on Feb. 27 at 6:15 p.m. at Northwest.
